Vigilance Adds CAP Alert Capability

The key to maximizing the effectiveness of any emergency warning or alert is the message’s ability to be consistently broadcasted across different notification systems, and then rapidly configured to many applications. Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) is a transmission format standard for exchanging emergency alerts created by the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in conjunction with the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) to do exactly that. CAP allows emergency alerts to be disseminated simultaneously over many different types of compliant communications systems, not only increasing the effectiveness of distributing an emergency warning, but also substantially reducing the amount of time required to complete the task.
Vigilance Software recognizes the importance of the CAP standard, which is why this feature is supported by our software, enabling us to integrate with any other system or organization that also adheres to this standard.
Those of you currently using a student notification program such as Rave Alerts, can now be integrated into our platform.
